Basketball Game Preview: Westmont Warriors vs. Branham Bruins

The Westmont Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Branham Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Westmont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.

Last Wednesday, Westmont didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Teresa and fell 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Branham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 71-66 heartbreaker at the hands of Willow Glen. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (59), the Bruins still had to take the loss.

Westmont will have to keep a close watch on Aiden - Joseph Vietvu and Spencer Radunich, a pair of players who had a big impact on Branham's prior game. Vietvu went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points, while Radunich went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Radunich a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlo Marinucci, who posted seven points.

Westmont's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Branham, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Everything came up roses for Westmont against Branham in their previous matchup on January 8th, as the team secured an 84-50 win. In that contest, Westmont amassed a halftime lead of 50-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
