Adams Central has gone 8-2 against Northwest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Adams Central Patriots will be playing at home against the Northwest Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Adams Central is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They lost 74-54 to Holdrege on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Dusters are ranked eighth).

Despite the defeat, Adams Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Nepple posted 19 points. That was a full 35.2% of Adams Central's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Vontz, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest). They claimed a resounding 76-34 win over St. Cecilia. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.

Northwest has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Adams Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Adams Central took their win against Northwest when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 54-32. Will Adams Central repeat their success, or does Northwest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
