Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Lakeside's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Lakeside's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Thunder Ridge Longhorns with points to spare, taking the game 52-37. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-37 last Tuesday.

Lakeside had a senior duo take command as Jace Cunningham went 7 for 12 en route to 22 points and eight boards and Reece Remus went 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Cunningham is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Eli Schmitt, who posted five points and six assists.

Lakeside is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Thunder Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
