Preview: Fouke Panthers vs. Centerpoint Knights
Fouke is 2-8 against Centerpoint since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fouke Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Centerpoint Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Fouke sitting on 15 straight victories dating back to last season and Centerpoint on five.
Last Tuesday, Fouke beat Bismarck 58-46. Given Fouke's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Bismarck is ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Centerpoint earned a 45-37 victory over Harmony Grove on Tuesday.
Centerpoint got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Pipkins out in front who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Smith, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Fouke's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for Centerpoint, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Everything came up roses for Fouke against Centerpoint in their previous matchup back in February as the team secured a 73-40 win. Does Fouke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centerpoint turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
