Basketball Recap: Hiawatha Triumphs

After losing to DePue the last time they met, Hiawatha decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hiawatha Hawks walked away with a 55-45 victory over the DePue Little Giants on Friday.

Hiawatha's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for DePue, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hiawatha and Christian Liberty will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. DePue will take on Lowpoint-Washburn in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
