Basketball Recap: Jaiden Thompson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain Ridge over Maryvale

Mountain Ridge was the 57-44 winner over Maryvale when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions took a 72-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maryvale Panthers.

Mountain Ridge lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaiden Thompson, who went 6 of 14 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Thompson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ebrahema Jaiteh ? Kabba, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Mountain Ridge's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Maryvale, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.

Mountain Ridge will square off against Corona del Sol at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maryvale, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Maryvale Panthers challenge the Liberty Lions at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
