Basketball Game Preview: Monte Vista Mustangs vs. Granada Matadors

The Monte Vista Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Granada Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monte Vista is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering De La Salle just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Spartans 58-30. Having soared to a lofty 63 points in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Granada, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past Foothill with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 73-57.

Granada's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Monte Vista, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6.

Monte Vista came up short against Granada in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 68-61. Can Monte Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
