Volleyball Recap: Illinois Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

Illinois Math & Science Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newark Norsemen. The Titans were not able to make up for their loss to the Norsemen from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14.

Vivian Ludwig paced Illinois Math & Science Academy's offense, picking up three kills. Ludwig got some help from Fiza Shaikh and her four assists. Finally, Marijka Ristic kept Illinois Math & Science Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Illinois Math & Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-20-1. As for Newark, they pushed their record up to 29-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Illinois Math & Science Academy has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Earlville on the 22nd. As for Newark, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Mooseheart on the 27th.
