Barnesville was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wheeling Central Catholic on Thursday. The Shamrocks took their matchup with ease, bagging a 43-14 win over the Maroon Knights. The result was nothing new for the Shamrocks, who have now won six games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Wheeling Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kade Koroneos, who rushed for 145 yards and one score on only 15 carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.8 rushing yards per game. Nico Kusic was another key player, rushing for 49 yards and one touchdown.

Barnesville's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barnesville will welcome The Linsly School at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
