Softball Recap: Niles North Comes Up Short

Niles North fell victim to Maine West and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Niles North's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Maine West, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Niles North will venture away from home to face off against Northside at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.55 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Maine West, they will head out on the road to take on Resurrection at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
