Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 81-34 loss at the hands of the Memorial Chargers. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.

Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Garrett, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. That's the most rebounds Garrett has posted since back in February of 2024. Jalil Cotton was another key player, going 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will square off against McLain Science & Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Memorial, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McAlester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
