Basketball Recap: Sandhills/Thedford Takes a Loss

Sandhills/Thedford was the 61-52 winner over Sumner-Eddyville-Miller when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Sandhills/Thedford Knights took a 59-44 bruising from the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs on Saturday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sumner-Eddyville-Miller to victory, but perhaps none more so than Preston Beattie, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points. Cohen Rohde was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Sandhills/Thedford now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandhills/Thedford will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ansley/Litchfield on December 31st. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Franklin on January 7, 2025.
