After only two runs in their last matchup, Canyon Crest Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Classical Academy on Friday. The Ravens blew past the Caimans 14-7. The win continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Caimans: they've now won five in a row.

Kelly Stroot and Alexis McNamee did most of the damage at the plate: Stroot went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while McNamee went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave Stroot a new career-high. Kate Newlander also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Canyon Crest Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Canyon Crest Academy's record is now 13-10-1. As for Classical Academy, they moved to 9-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Canyon Crest Academy will welcome Oceanside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Ravens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Escondido at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.1 runs per game on average), something the Caimans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
