Bryson Williams and Tucker Proctor secure win for Cheatham County Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Hickman County, the Cheatham County Central Cubs were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 65-47 win over Montgomery Central. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Cheatham County Central has managed all season.

Leading Cheatham County Central to victory were Bryson Williams and Tucker Proctor. Williams scored 16 points, while Proctor scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Bryant, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Loss or not, Montgomery Central got some senior leadership from Javon Blackmon who scored nine points along with four steals and Drew Yarbrough who scored 17 points. The match was Yarbrough's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christian Fox, who scored 13 points.

Cheatham County Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Montgomery Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Cheatham County Central will be playing at home against White House at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in White House's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Montgomery Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Stewart County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
