The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors were the 57-45 winner over the Lincoln Lynx when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Sergeant Bluff-Luton took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln. Sergeant Bluff-Luton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hutson Rau, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Preslie Girres, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sergeant Bluff-Luton will take on Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lincoln, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. Sioux City North will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Lincoln is ranked 64th).
