SouthWest Edgecombe struggled with assists on Friday (Farmville Central had 18 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. While losing is never fun, SouthWest Edgecombe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Farmville Central is ranked 15th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Justin Bridgers, who scored 11 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Anquavion Darden was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northern Nash lost to Wakefield on the road by a decisive 68-49 margin on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northern Nash has scored all season.
