Soccer Recap: Cypress Falls Comes Up Short

Cypress Falls fell victim to Northbrook and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Northbrook Raiders by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Raiders are ranked 182nd).

Cypress Falls' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-6-2. As for Northbrook, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3-2.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Cypress Falls duke it out with the Jersey Village at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cypress Falls' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Northbrook, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
