Football Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Starts off Right with Win over Rio Vista

Stone Ridge Christian took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 35-24 victory over the Rio Vista Rams. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Rio Vista lost, don't look at Emmett Medders. Despite the final result, he rushed for 136 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 217 yards and one touchdown. Medders also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making nine total tackles.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stone Ridge Christian is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Modesto Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Vista, they will head out to challenge Maxwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
