Basketball Game Preview: Monrovia Wildcats vs. Blair Vikings

The Monrovia Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Blair Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Monrovia has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 27.

Monrovia is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against South Pasadena on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Monrovia took a blow against South Pasadena, falling 82-46. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Meanwhile, Blair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 79-64 to La Canada. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Spartans are ranked 104th).

Monrovia's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Blair, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Monrovia might still be hurting after the 94-74 loss they got from Blair in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Blair's Timmy Anderson, who went 16 of 21 on his way to 38 points and five boards.
