Preview: Enterprise Wolves vs. Duchesne Eagles
The Enterprise Wolves will take on the Duchesne Eagles in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at. Hopefully Enterprise focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
After only 24 points in their last matchup, Enterprise made sure to put some points up on the board against Water Canyon. Enterprise took their match at home with ease, bagging a 62-28 win over Water Canyon. That 62-28 margin sets a new team best for Enterprise this season.
Enterprise's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bentlee Rogers, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals, and Eliza Balajadia, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and four steals. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kylah Humphries, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Duchesne waltzed into their contest last Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 44-32 victory over American Heritage.
Duchesne relied on the efforts of Kira Grant, who scored 14 points, and Chezney Farnsworth , who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jaelee Farnworth was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 rebounds.
Enterprise pushed their record up to 4-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. Duchesne's record now sits at 6-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Enterprise have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 32.4% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Duchesne, though, as they've only made 34.9% of their threes per game this season. Given Enterprise's sizeable advantage in that area, Duchesne will need to find a way to close that gap.
Enterprise suffered a grim 50-27 defeat to Duchesne in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Enterprise avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
