Softball Recap: Hyde Park's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Hyde Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 13-7 to the Sacred Heart Indians. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 3.18 runs allowed.

Grace Parscal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Cariana Stout was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Hyde Park's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Sacred Heart, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Hyde Park will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Lorena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lorena: 3.9, Hyde Park: 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Sacred Heart, they will be taking part in a tournament against Tidehaven at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
