Football Game Preview: Hartselle Tigers vs. Homewood Patriots + How To Watch

The Hartselle Tigers will face off against the Homewood Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Hartselle 8.7, Homewood 12.7) so any points scored will be well earned.

Hartselle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 33-7 margin over Buckhorn. Considering the Tigers have won eight matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hartselle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaheim Pruitt out in front who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one TD. Jayden Morris was in the mix as well, providing the Tigers with two scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hartselle proved: they limited Buckhorn to a paltry -2.7 yards per carry. The Tigers hasn't allowed more than 2.8 yards per carry in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Homewood entered their tilt with Pell City on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They took down the Panthers 28-14.

Hartselle better keep an eye on Kaleb Carson. He was instrumental in Homewood's win, rushing for 69 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 188 yards and one TD while completing 77.8% of his passes. Their leading receiver Tomon Felton was Carson's top target yet again, picking up 99 receiving yards and one score.

Hartselle's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Homewood, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Hartselle has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Homewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 173.1 rushing yards.
