Frontier took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Belpre, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars skirted past the Golden Eagles 3-1. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Kaycee Berentz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kate Congleton, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Frontier pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Belpre, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Frontier beat Belpre by a score of 12-1 later that day.
