Baseball Game Preview: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Mountain House Mustangs

For the second straight game, Manteca will face off against Mountain House. Manteca will head out to square off against Mountain House at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Manteca has three straight victories, Mountain House has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Manteca got the win against Mountain House by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Buffaloes have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jimmy Burns looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Nate Slikker was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Preston Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Manteca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain House only posted an OBP of .316.

Mountain House's loss dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for Manteca, their record is now 13-3.

Mountain House's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Manteca has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game.
