Basketball Recap: Pell City Falls Despite Big Games from Brooklyn Rains and Ebonecia Forman

If Pell City was feeling good fresh off their 59-30 takedown of Ashville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pell City Panthers took a hard 51-32 fall against the Gulfport Admirals on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 233rd in Alabama, while the Admirals are ranked 112th in Mississippi).

Despite the loss, Pell City had strong showings from Ebonecia Forman, who posted ten points and three steals, and Brooklyn Rains, who earned four points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Forman a new career-high in points.

Even though they lost, Pell City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Pell City's record now sits at 4-15. As for Gulfport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Pell City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-47 defeat against Bryant on the 28th. As for Gulfport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-44 victory against New Brockton on the 28th.
