Football Game Preview: Porter Pirates vs. Woodland Cougars

For the first time this season, Porter will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Woodland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Porter will be strutting in after a win while Woodland will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Porter beat Warner 20-15.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 44-12, which was the final score in Woodland's tilt against Pawhuska on Friday.

Porter will have to contain Jaston Terry as he made an impact in Woodland's last game. He picked up 141 receiving yards, and also punched in one rushing score.

Woodland now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Porter, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Porter was dealt a bruising 65-12 defeat at the hands of Woodland when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 51-6.
