Softball Recap: West Mesa Takes a Loss

West Mesa lost against Los Lunas on April 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Tigers, falling 8-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellie Padilla was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity 'Toots' Bazan, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

West Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Los Lunas, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Coincidentally, West Mesa and Los Lunas will both be playing Atrisco Heritage Academy the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Mustangs will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
