Baseball Recap: Syracuse Find Success

Syracuse was forced to take a big defeat against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Weber Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Warriors on Monday, they had to take a 12-2 loss.

Calder Millard was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Syracuse's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-14 when he doesn't). Millard was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Easton Hamblin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 12 matches. Caleb Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Syracuse's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Weber, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home.

Syracuse will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
