Preview: Pleasanton Eagles vs. Natalia Mustangs
Pleasanton is 3-0 against Natalia since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pleasanton Eagles are on the road again and play against the Natalia Mustangs at 11:45 a.m. on December 7th.
Last Saturday, Pleasanton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-37 to Carrizo Springs.
Even though Natalia has not done well against Karnes City recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Natalia came out on top against Karnes City by a score of 53-45. The win was just what Natalia needed coming off of a 72-16 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Natalia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leyla Saenz, who scored 8 points along with 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaya Jones, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Pleasanton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Natalia, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Pleasanton strolled past Natalia when the teams last played back in November by a score of 57-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pleasanton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
