It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Burton had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Big Sandy Wildcats get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Burton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Big Sandy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10-1 record this season.
