Basketball Game Preview: New Washington Mustangs vs. Rock Creek Academy Lions

New Washington is 2-8 against Rock Creek Academy since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The New Washington Mustangs will square off against the Rock Creek Academy Lions at 7:45 p.m. New Washington has given up an average of 65.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

New Washington is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They took a hard 80-61 fall against South Dearborn. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Knights are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, Rock Creek Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Clarksville, falling 64-39. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

New Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Rock Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.

New Washington was dealt a bruising 67-32 defeat at the hands of Rock Creek Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can New Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
