            The Johnson County Longhorns will head out on the road to  square off against  the Hampton Bulldogs  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Johnson County has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
While Johnson County's  victory against Hampton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Johnson County had just enough and edged out Hampton  17-16. The Longhorns' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.

 Brock Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-5 with three  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Johnson County let  Nate Dorman and  Braxton Bragg run wild. Dorman  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4, while  Bragg  scored four  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avery Jones, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 Johnson County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
 Johnson County's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Hampton, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
