Tri-Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Newark Wildcats by a score of 5-0. That's more bragging rights for the Scotties, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brady Kaufman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Kaufman was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kade Hindel, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will head out to challenge The Linsly School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark, they will welcome New Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
