Mother Lode League recap October 29, 2013

Calaveras moved up to 414 from 485 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mother Lode League. The Redskins climbed the ranks as a result of besting Argonaut 41-14.

Calaveras took down the Mustangs 41-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mike Seawell ran for 115 yards and caught 2 passes for 54 yards in the win.

Kody Sackett threw for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 13-16 with 1 interception.

Jake Fulkerson was the best receiver in the league this week as Summerville lost to Amador. Fulkerson tallied 5 receptions for 103 yards. Andrew Brennan helped Summerville's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Bears' Brice Farrell and JT McCready have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Farrell has thrown for 1,119 yards this season, while McCready has 19 catches for 396 yards. The Buffaloes' Donald White leads the league in rushing yards with 899.

An important game coming up in Mother Lode League this week will be when Linden takes on Amador. At the moment, the Lions are in third, while Bill Baker's team is in first.

Jason Weatherby's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,568 from 6,653. The advance stemmed from a 41-14 victory over Argonaut last week.
