Basketball Recap: Portage Comes Up Short

Portage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Edgewood Crusaders 84-31. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Crusaders are ranked sixth).

Portage's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Edgewood, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Portage will host Cambria-Friesland at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edgewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McFarland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
