Softball Recap: Oakton's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Fairfax on Wednesday, Oakton came back down to earth. The Cougars took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the James Madison Warhawks on Friday. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 17-3 to the Warhawks when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Oakton moved to 8-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for James Madison, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Oakton will challenge South Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Seahawks at the right time seeing as the Seahawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for James Madison, they will face off against Chantilly at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
