            Softball Recap: Hicksville Aces vs. Gorham Fayette Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Hicksville  took care of business in their home opener  (and then some) on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gorham Fayette Eagles  a   26-0 shutout.

 Aleyah Keeley and  Kennedy Adams were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Keeley   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Adams   struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and only one walk). What's more,  she gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest she's  had since back in April of 2024. At the plate,  Keeley  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances, while  Adams  went 2-for-3 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  five  RBI gave  Adams a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Hicksville let  Addie Sanders and  Evy McAlexander run wild. Sanders  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI, while  McAlexander  scored three  runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave  McAlexander a new career-high in  RBI (three). Another player making a difference was  Mckenna Baird, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hicksville will head out to  take on Crestview  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Gorham Fayette, they will face off against Evergreen at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
