Softball Recap: Keyser Has No Trouble Against Mountain Ridge

Keyser's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mountain Ridge Miners with a sharp 17-9 victory. With that win, the Golden Tornado brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Bibs Felton, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Root, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Keyser moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mountain Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Keyser and Mountain Ridge will both be playing Hampshire the next time they take the field. The Golden Tornado will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Miners will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
