Softball Recap: Bexley Comes Up Short

Bexley extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grandview Heights Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since April 13, 2024.

Bexley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Helena Sidel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Grandview Heights, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 9th.

On Grandview Heights' side, Ejheni Mdivanian spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tatum Lusher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chloe Castle, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Bexley is taking a road trip to challenge Tree of Life Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Grandview Heights, they will take on Groveport-Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
