Baseball Game Preview: Winterset Huskies vs. Gilbert Tigers

Winterset and Gilbert are an even 4-4 against one another since June of 2022, but likely not for long. The Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers on Friday. Winterset will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Winterset turned things around against Clarke on Tuesday. They blew past the Indians 11-4. The Huskies not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since June 2nd (when they won 13-3).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gilbert faced off against Carlisle on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 7-6. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gilbert now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Winterset, their victory bumped their record up to 13-16.

Winterset suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Gilbert when the teams last played back in June. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
