Volleyball Game Preview: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Pitman Pride

Monterey Trail is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Pitman is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Monterey Trail was able to grind out a solid win over Elk Grove, taking the game 3-1. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Thundering Herd recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The win didn't come easy: Elk Grove scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 25-27, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Pitman beat Enochs 3-1 last Thursday.

Pitman had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.

Pitman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 22 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Monterey Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
