Basketball Game Preview: Weld Central Rebels vs. Brush Beetdiggers

The Weld Central Rebels will take on the Brush Beetdiggers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weld Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Weld Central is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against University on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Weld Central was outmatched by University and fell 71-33. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, Brush ended up a good deal behind Highland on Tuesday and lost 68-54. The loss continues a trend for the Beetdiggers in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost three in a row.

Brush's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Weld Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Weld Central couldn't quite finish off Brush in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 45-43. Can Weld Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
