Basketball Recap: Tupper Lake Falls Despite Big Games from Felix Bodeewes and Colin Strack

Tupper Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 43-35 to the Colton-Pierrepont Colts. The Lumberjacks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colts earlier this season, when they won 56-41.

Despite the defeat, Tupper Lake had strong showings from Colin Strack, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points and five rebounds, and Felix Bodeewes, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Strack a new career-high in points. Mike Bolia also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Ty Farns was nothing short of spectacular for Colton-Pierrepont: he went 10-for-24 on his way to 22 points and seven steals. Farns is becoming a predictor of Colton-Pierrepont's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is 2-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn't). Josh Erwin was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven boards and four steals.

Tupper Lake's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Colton-Pierrepont, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Tupper Lake will venture away from home to take on Lisbon Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Colton-Pierrepont, they will host Hammond Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
