Softball Recap: Linden Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Linden duked it out with Franklin on Thursday. The Linden Lions took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin Wildcats. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to them when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Millee Holguin and Olivia Fears did some serious damage despite the final result: Holguin scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Fears went 3-for-5 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Alonso, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Linden fell to 2-1. As for Franklin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Linden will square off against Buchanan at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin, they will challenge Woodcreek at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
