Volleyball Recap: Rock Canyon Comes Up Short at Home Against Fossil Ridge + How To Watch

Rock Canyon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Fossil Ridge SaberCats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Rock Canyon took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Fossil Ridge was led to victory by Trinity Burchett and Emery Johnson. Burchett had 14 digs and three aces, while Johnson had 13 kills, seven digs, three aces, and two blocks. That's the most blocks Johnson has posted since back in October of 2024.

Coming up, Rock Canyon will take on Chatfield in a tournament on Friday. As for Fossil Ridge, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Legacy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
