The Mishawaka Marian Knights will head out on the road to take on the Elkhart Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
On Saturday, Mishawaka Marian got the win against Hammond Morton by a conclusive 9-2. Considering the Knights have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Katie Milligan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Halle Pedraza, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Mishawaka Marian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hammond Morton only posted a batting average of .200.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elkhart). They put the hurt on Fort Wayne Northrop with a sharp 17-2 win on Saturday. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Anna Knight made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Knight was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bailey Harris-Rogers, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Ava Walker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
The win made it two in a row for Elkhart and bumps their season record up to 10-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Mishawaka Marian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.
Mishawaka Marian suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Elkhart in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
