Recap: Esparto Spartans vs. Golden Sierra Grizzlies
If The Esparto Spartans were feeling good off their 51-22 takedown of the Vacaville Christian Falcons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Esparto took a 42-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Golden Sierra on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Esparto still got an impressive performance from Antonio Seastrunk jr, who rushed for 247 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Leading Golden Sierra to victory were Aiden Pullin and Gavin Miller. Pullin rushed for 144 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Miller rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Esparto's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Golden Sierra, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Esparto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Golden Sierra will head out on the road to face off against Ripon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ripon Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 443 points over their last nine games.
