Soccer Game Preview: Marengo vs. Johnsburg

Marengo is 2-8 against Johnsburg since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Indians will take on the Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Marengo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let St. Edward get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Marengo sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnsburg). They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over North Boone on Monday. Elizabeth Smith was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Marengo's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Johnsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 14-0.

Marengo suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Johnsburg in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
