Volleyball Recap: Genna Kreuser Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Unity

Northwestern hadn't done well against Unity recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Northwestern was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-14, 17-15.

Northwestern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Genna Kreuser, who had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Kreuser has posted over her last six games. Lauren Zifko was another key player, getting 12 digs and one assist.

The win made it two in a row for Northwestern and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Unity, they dropped their record down to 13-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
