Softball Recap: Century's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Carrier Mills-Stonefort last Friday, Century came back down to earth. Century came up short against the Benton Rangers on Monday, falling 13-6. The loss put an end to the Centurions' undefeated start to the season.

Century saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylee Vanmeter, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Vanmeter is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Century fell to 2-1. As for Benton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Century will face off against Massac County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benton, they will challenge Centralia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
